The Encore Senior Awards aim to recognize high school students for their artistic development. The applicants are tasked with creating a project that will interpret and comprehend classical music. Submissions are evaluated by judges independently of other participants and granted awards based on their performance.
Registration deadline is October 1st, 2023
* A brief list of activities and awards from your high school years. This includes: competitions, recitals, festivals, masterclasses, workshops, etc.
* Recordings of 1-2 pieces of the applicant's choice. This should be uploaded to YouTube with the link included in the submission email.
* A short essay about the presented music piece, limited to 2 pages. The essay may include research and analysis of the work's period, style, form, and performance genre. The essay should demonstrate the applicant's gained conceptual understanding of the composition along with the overall interpretation of ideas.
Work is judged on creativity and the judge's perception of what you had to work with.
Each student will receive comments based on a judge's evaluations.
15 minute time limit for the musical piece(s).
Entries scoring between 90-100 points are Gold Winners.
Entries scoring between 80-89 points are Silver Winners.
Entries scoring between 70-79 points are Bronze Winners.
Entries scoring between 60-69 points receive Honorable Mention recognition.
